Minerals & Nutrition > The Difference Between Ionic And Colloidal Minerals
By Dr. John Heinerman
Sometimes
thinking of something in comparative
terms rather than in a strict
scientific sense enable us to obtain
a much better understanding of the
matter. This is especially true if
something is as complex as forms of
minerals.
The issue
involving ionic minerals versus
colloidal minerals is a hotly
contested one. It is not so much
which is the better of the pair as it
is which of the two is the more
effective for you. A simple
illustration will help to give you a
better ideas of what is meant by
this.
Imagine, for a
moment, two immigrants from the same
foreign country entering the United
States for the very first time. One
speaks fluent English in addition to
his own native language (ionic
minerals) while the other individual
speaks the language of his birth
country (colloidal). Yet, both are
equal in every other respect as far
as character and attributes go.
Yet, the
individual who understands English
fairly well (ionic) will be able to
get ahead much faster in terms of
employment and economic security than
the other (colloidal) who does not
speak a word of English. The second
individual will first have to learn
the new language before he or she can
realize the fulfillment of his or her
own dreams and opportunities.
It is much the
same with ionic and colloidal
minerals. Both are equal in many
respects. However, the major
difference separating the two is
this: one is fully assimilated into
the body very quickly while the other
takes longer. Ionic minerals are
already in a form that the body
recognizes and understands so they
can be quickly put to good use
without further delay. The colloidal
minerals, on the other hand, must,
first of all, undergo a process
called reconversion within the body
before they can be utilized. And then
only a certain percentage is used
after all with some being lost in the
reconversion process.
If you had to
choose between hiring one of the two
foreigners from the same country with
many of the same qualifications who
would you be more apt to choose?
Wouldn't it be the person who spoke
fluent English and could work for you
right away? Or would you want to
spend a lot of time and energy
educating the other person in English
before hiring him or her?
The answer then
is simple: you want to take ionic
minerals into your system because
they are already in a form that the
body understands and can put to total
use immediately. After all, why fool
around with the colloidal form which
takes longer to utlize and then only
in an incomplete way.
